Thanks to Mrs. Buffett who brought me on board in 1997 as a program assistant for the Expanded Food Nutrition Education Program. She practically hired me without any teaching background, and this is where my passion for teaching bloomed!
Because of Director Buffett and Rosalind Dale, I followed my dream to pursue a higher education and today, I continue to achieve my full potential!

Dr. Dale has been a mentor and great support in my profession.
" My professional accomplishments Are a result of your mentorship
Without your direction
I would have been on a downward trip
A significant part of my professional life
Has been molded by you
I will miss you in your absence
As you leave for opportunities anew."
~Farewell

My first time meeting Robin was in the late year of '97 during our regional training through University of Illinois Extension. Her enthusiasm and energy captivated my attention. She lit up a room when she came in; she was just so confident and outgoing.
After attending my first training with her, I came out saying to myself; someday I will facilitate the way she does. Robin had a great sense of humor but most important was the passion she had to teach and help others. I was highly impressed by this wonderful lady!
Year after year, I always looked forward to all of her trainings. Her teaching methods were unique, and the fact that she included different teaching methods made such an impact in my life. It was never a dull moment with Robin Orr.
Robin Orr became a state and national leader in community nutrition education.
